This workshop will be held in a reserved cafe in Thamel, Kathmandu and will begin on the 17th of January over a cup of coffee/tea. The exact location of the session will be disclosed to admitted candidates.

Taha Mughal, an architect, historic preservationist, and writer, holds advanced degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Pennsylvania. A recipient of prestigious scholarships like the Charles Wallace India Trust and Fulbright-Nehru, he has also received offers from Harvard and other renowned institutions.

His work spans Heritage, Culture, Politics, and Literature. Over the past decade, he has mentored underprivileged communities in North India through art. Currently, he is co-translating Kashmiri classical literature in the Himalayas and has contributed to a Barakat Trust-UK-funded project on Early Modern Kashmir.

11.15 am - 1.15 PM: Deliverable 1: Writing Personal Narrative & Academic Background (300-400 words: individual exercise + peer review + one-on-one mentor sessions)

1.15 pm - 2.30 pm: Lunch Break

2.30 pm - 4.00 pm: Identifying Knowledge Gaps (peer + group discussion)

4.00 pm - 4.30 pm: Conversations over tea - Academic Journeys

Day 2 – Sunday, 18 January

9:30 – 10:00 a.m: Deliverable 2: Professional Narrative + Knowledge Gaps (400–500 words)

10:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m: Peer review + revision (Personal / Academic / Professional / Knowledge Gaps); one-on-one mentor sessions

1:00 – 2:30 p.m: Lunch

2:30 – 6:00 p.m: University research + Need for the Course preparation

8:30 – 9:30 p.m: Conversations over dinner — Universities, Mentorship & Fit

Day 3 – Monday, 19 January

9:30 – 10:00 a.m.: Deliverable 3: Need for the Course / Study Objectives (300–400 words)

10:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m: Peer critique in pairs + one-on-one mentor sessions

1:00 – 2:30 p.m: Lunch

2:30 – 4:30 p.m: Career Plans discussion in pairs

4:30 – 6:00 p.m: Writing Short-term & Long-term Goals
