Ritika Nara is a PhD researcher in cancer sciences at the University of Glasgow who 'hacked' our Instagram account last week. The Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre funded her doctoral research on pancreatic cancer. Before moving on to a PhD, Nara completed her Master’s in Cancer at University College London and Bachelor’s in Science at Ashoka University in India. In her free time, Nara enjoys poetry, football, reruns of her favourite tv shows, and long walks by the river Kelvin in Glasgow. Larisa is a senior at Harvard studying neuroscience, with interests at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, and education. She currently conducts research at the Valera Lab within Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Before coming to the US for college, Larisa spent two years traveling within Nepal teaching and performing spoken word poetry. These formative years of her life heavily influenced her interest in teaching. Bittu Kaveri Rajaraman is an Associate Professor of Biology and Psychology, and is the current Head of the Psychology Department at Ashoka University. They received a PhD from Harvard University in neuroscience, and went on to become a DST-Kothari postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, and then an INSPIRE Faculty Fellow at the Central University of Hyderabad. Their lecture on the 14th of February, 2023 focused on on the evolution of neural and behavioural systems of communication, the neuroethology of temporal pattern recognition in insects, and quantitative and economic cognition more broadly in zebrafish, dogs and humans.
